Certification in general

The certification body is founded on the ground given by non-discriminative politics and procedures. The services of the certification body should be accessible to all solicitors that act in its declared field of activity.
The products of a solicitor are assessed according to the criteria mentioned by the specific standards. The certification body has its own procedures for:

  • providing, maintaining, withdrawing and the suspending of the certification if necessary;
  • extension of the certification or the reduction of the certification domain;
  • re-evaluation of the certification if important changes occur that alter significantly the project or the product specification, or if the related standards are modified, or if the changes influence the property, structure or the management of the solicitor, or in the case of any other information that demonstrates that the product do not satisfy anymore the requirements of the certification system.

The certification body guarantees, according to the applicable law, the confidentiality of the information obtained during the certification activities, at all levels of its organisation, including committees, organisms or persons that act in its name.

Approval

Many products require testing for conformance with specifications or compliance with regulations before they can be put on market. Even simpler products may require technical documentation that includes test data. With trade across borders, it may not be practical for these activities to be carried out by suppliers and customers, but instead by specialized third parties. In addition, national legislation may require testing to be carried out by independent bodies.

Conformity assessment has become an important component of world trade and most often carried out by specialist organizations, such as inspection and certification bodies and testing laboratories.
